Visiting Dublin

This isn't a recent trip but I never got around to posting this so I guess it's kind of a throw back!

So after a few stressful weeks at university, me and my friends decided to go to Dublin for a long weekend! It was great to destress and have a bit of fun when we finished up for the year. We went to Dublin in May and was shocked by the lovely weather we didn't pack for, I will definitely be going back!

We flew with Ryanair from Glasgow Prestwick to Dublin Airport which was a lot bigger than I expected! The flight was so quick, taking less than an hour.

We stayed in a Travelodge called Dublin airport south which was just a bus journey from the city centre. This hotel had a bar and restaurant downstairs which was really handy. There is also a bus every 15 minutes that took you to the airport.

Dublin city centre was brilliant and we did end up spending most of our time in temple bar. Dublin is good for shopping and for drinking, most bars have live music and we must of sang Galway girl 10 times in one night but it was great!

Dublin offers a wide variety of restaurants and food options

Travel tips for Dublin

  • As any holiday, Dublin is very expensive! Make sure you take a lot of money with you.
  • I would suggest trying to get a hotel nearer to the centre of Dublin, although our hotel was only a bus journey away, it was quite confusing the first night we were there.
  • Plan ahead!! We didn't do much of the tourist attractions that Dublin has to offer, like the Guinness factory, Dublin zoo or the National Wax museum but if you're going to Dublin it would be great to plan your days to get as much out of it as possible.
  • Temple Bar is a must! I would highly recommend going to Temple Bar during your stay, it is very lively and the Live music is amazing to sit and listen to.
  • Dublin is great for a student holiday as it doesn't cost that must to actually book the holiday and if you're going for a drinking weekend you have a lot of great bars and pubs all in one street.
